Why Somali Service providing Organizations in Toronto Need to Merge.
TORONTO, October 17, 2008 (Somali Canadians Today): One thing all Somalis in Toronto agree upon is the dire need for unity in the community. All Somalis in the city want and need unity. But the problem has always been how to achieve this unity. Over the last few years, community leaders have been trying to work on how to bring unity in the community, at least at the level of service providing, non-profit organizations that cater to the community.

SOMALIA: Food distribution under way west of Mogadishu
NAIROBI, 7 August 2007 (IRIN) - The UN World Food Programme (WFP) has started distributing food to civilians, who fled violence in Mogadishu and are living in the area around Afgoye town, about 390km west of the Somali capital, a spokesperson said.

Fairfax, Virginia, U.S.A, 25 April 2007 - The most recent shelling and indiscriminate bombardment by US supported Ethiopian occupation forces and the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) Warlord militias in densely populated civilian neighborhoods and major markets in Mogadishu has caused a severe humanitarian crisis in Somalia. Hospitals, schools, and mosques did not escape this indiscriminate bombardment.

21 Killed in Fighting Between Militants, Ethiopian Forces in Somalia
TORONTO (Somali Canadian Today), In Mogadishu insurgents have burned and dragged the bodies of at least two soldiers through the streets of Mogadishu, after a clash between militants and Ethiopian forces that killed 21 people and wounded more than 100 civilians today on Wednesday March 21, 2007.

Ethiopia’s Meddling: Has it Strengthened the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia?
Two years have already elapsed since the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) was incepted at Embagathi, Kenya. But the question that lingers in everyone’s mind now is: Has Ethiopia done anything meaningful to salvage the TFG following the conclusion of Embagathi Peace Process? And why is Ethiopia still persistently reluctant to let Somalis stand on their feet again? The TFG has literally been dysfunctional and has all along been inundated by insurmountable crises that are by and large attributed to Ethiopia’s meddling in the Somali affairs.
